[A video from Griever opens at the bakery where Angeal and Squall are busy working on some lovely new treats for the upcoming holidays. The camera zooms in on some lovely desserts of all kinds before going back to Angeal and Squall. Squall is eating pocky while Angeal looks directly at the camera.]

So, me and Squall have been working on a few things, and today we thought we’d show off one of them. It’s nothing too fancy, but we’ve got a lot of variety. [He holds up what some might be able to identify as Pocky - a stick of plain chocolate, a pretty pink strawberry, and something with nuts in the coating.] There’s also green tea, cookies and cream… Plus a couple of unusual ones, just for fun. We’ll probably have plenty of them, so just drop by if you’re interested.

Bahamutt especially has been telling me something about “Pocky Day”? So if you don’t mind trying to talk with a dog, they can tell you more about that.

[Too busy eating a pocky to make out what he says but it’s something about how strange it is to hear Bahamutt or any DTF talk.]

…Hm. Hey, Squall, can I try one myself?

Oh? Sure, here you go Angea-

[Angeal leans in close before Squall can finish speaking, sliding his mouth right over the pocky that’s still sticking out of the other man’s mouth. They get close enough to practically be kissing - and even then that’s a matter of centimeters - before Angeal snaps off the pocky with his own teeth and leans back, looking quite satisfied. Kind of a bastard level of satisfaction, honestly, even as he walks off.]

[It would seem Squall.exe has crashed and will need to Reboot. Would you like to reboot your Squall? [Y/N] Thank you for choosing Yes. Reboot in Progress. Squall is very stunned from the near kiss and needs a moment to recover from it. It's clear he didn't plan this out.]

[Angeal walks back in with a bunch of pocky in his arms unfazed and looks at the camera as it pans to him] You know what, we also happen to have a special deal going on for Pocky Day. Send a picture or video of you and a loved one sharing it, or even just do it right in front of us, and get an extra order for free.

[Squall seems to snap out of his stupor and gives Angeal a very confused look with cheeks as pink as the strawberry Pocky.] Wait…aren’t the treats usually fr-

[Angeal puts one large hand over Squall’s mouth.] Happy Pocky Day, assuming Bahamutt is telling the truth and it’s an actual holiday.

[ Camera pans to Bahamautt who gives a deep boof before it cuts out to static.]

[The moment Sizhu and Itto are passing the bakery decked out in signage when Itto notices the flyers and walks right in. He sees the video and heck yeah he needs to try it with his new mate so he grabs a few boxes of the treat and sticks at least 5 pocky sticks in his mouth.]

[while not sizhui's first time walking by the bakery, it is the first time he actually does go inside. he barely spares a glance around, taking in their surroundings and examining the leaflets, but itto still has time to cram far too much food into his mouth before sizhui has turned back toward him.

he blinks once, twice, shakes his head then smiles and bridges the small gap between them, both hands outstretching to clasp itto's wrist. this way, at least he can't shove any more into his mouth (yet).] Itto, I don't think you're supposed to have that many? You'll likely choke before any actual playing happens...

Bwu Sizwui!

[The pocky is still in his mouth as he tries to get Sizhui to share it with him a pouty look in his eyes. It's hard to not bite onto the chocolate of the treat but because it's not something hard like a rock candy he isn't that impatient in tasting it. He likes chocolate but sugar treats are where it's at for him.]

[there comes a long-suffering sigh, followed by sizhui shaking his head, but he's smiling as his right hand lifts and cups itto's cheek.] Alright, but I really think this is too much.

[nevertheless, he rises up on his toes then tugs itto down, carefully fitting his mouth around the other ends of the pocky and biting down in smaller, gentle motions to help take away some of the burden, even though he knows all too well that itto's probably going to make a mess anyhow.

(it's fine, they can clean up after themselves and spare the owners the headache.)]

[Oh that touch would melt him every single time. Since they'd been mated Itto hasn't had enough of Sizhui, every touch is just that more meaningful and just makes him want to burst out into beatboxing.

Of course his excitement is also his detriment since once Sizhui gets closer to start biting the pocky, Itto chomps too hard and nearly half of them fall to the flor in a mess. In his panic of wasting food he quickly chomps down on the rest until his lips are on Sizhui's and he's eaten at least 90% of each pocky stick. So much for romantic.

Three big bites and he's done and pulls back and quickly is picking up the ones that dropped.]

Crap,crap,crap!

[if itto started beatboxing, he very well might expire on the spot from embarrassment, although he also wouldn't be able to help being endeared by the adorable reaction.

. . . well, at least he got a few small pieces of chocolate here or there? instinctively, sizhui moves a hand to catch a couple of falling sticks, though he's not quite quick enough to catch as many as he'd hoped he might. just like he figured, there's a mess, but he doesn't say ‘i told you so’, oh no! instead, he hums at the kiss, finishes what he's chewing, lets his lips quirk slightly then he crouches down moments after itto does to help pick up the pocky too.

he gathers slower than his partner, being careful to not squish any in his hand or crush them on the floor and make their accidental mess worse.]

It's okay, [sizhui reassures,] we can just try again! Maybe with fewer sticks this time? I didn't get much of the chocolate... [nevermind him, feigning a pout when it's really not that big a deal to someone who'd prefer other sugary treats rather than chocolate.]

[Itto does leave a bit of a mess but thanks to Sizhui he's able to get it cleaned up and when he sees that pout on his love's face he can't help but take some pocky sticks and just hold them out in his hand to Sizhui.]

OH NO! I DIDNT MEAN TO EAT IT ALL! SIZHUI BRO PLEASE TAKE THEM!!!

[He is all but practically shoving them into Sizhui's mouth he feels so bad and it's cealr on his sad eyes he didn't realize his mistake from before.]

Itto, please— [you don't have to shout, is what he'd planned on continuing with, but itto's a bit faster with thrusting those little chocolate sticks upon him.

sizhui accepts a couple at first, taking small, meticulous bites all the way down to just the biscuity tips, which he tosses back shortly afterward too, but he takes another single pocky once he's finished, tucks it between his lips then reaches both hands up to cup itto's face and pull him in.

his left hand drifts down, thumb and forefinger catching itto's chin so he can tug, open his mouth and lean to put the other end of the stick in. from there, it's itto's decision whether he starts eating right away, yet sizhui wastes no time nibbling his way toward the oni's mouth.]

[And this is why he decided Sizhui should be his mate. The man knows exactly how to center him and keep him focused when he wants to. Right now that's exactly what Sizhui is doing by keeping Itto focused on him and made to look at him. He stops his fumbling instantly and just stares at his mate for a moment, breathless. He blinks once, twice and then takes the hint to nibble on chocolate.

Wrapping his own arms around Sizhui's waist he pulls his love closer and nibbles on the biscuit side of the stick, meeting Sizhui halfway into a kiss. The moment his lips meet Sizhui's he closes his eyes and stops chewing, just enjoying the kiss.]

[while sizhui's been well-aware of itto's wild enthusiasm, he's slowly but surely learning the ways he can capture the other man's attention, get him to winddown just long enough to enjoy the lingering sweetness of particular moments. for the longest time, they're staring eye-to-eye with each other, though once itto finally starts eating too, sizhui lets his lashes flutter and his eyes remain half-lidded through the motions of them sharing that pocky stick.

a quiet hum passes between them as those arms wrap around him and their lips come together, both of his own hands lowering to itto's shoulders then drifting back, down over the tops of his shoulderblades then back up, his hands interlocking across itto's nape. he holds the kiss a bit longer than necessary, reopens his eyes after realizing they'd shut some time ago and – albeit with clear reluctance – withdraws, the tip of his tongue licking away any excess chocolate staining their mouths first, but then he murmurs,] See, wasn't that better? A sugary treat and an even sweeter kiss.
